Bolt! Adopted 04/2020

So. I saw on Craigslist that this guy was wanting to trade his 6 month old puppy for a bag of dog food??!! I reached out to him and asked him why he was doing this? He said his dog had an accidental litter – and this pup was the last of the litter- he’s not a breeder so he doesn’t want $ but just a bag of dog food to feed his other dog (the mom of the pup) – the problem is: of course this pup could fall into the wrong hands. A dog fighter? A breeding circle- especially if this guy only wants a $20 bag of dog food. So we received a 35 lb. bag of dog food as a donation from the wonderful #missionwellington

On March 14, 2020, our rescue partner Ginger drove to Whittier to #SaveBolt – Ginger says the mom and dad of Bolt were crying as she drove away with Bolt and that Bolt cried the whole way back. Poor little guy is filthy because he has lived outside his entire life in the backyard. We will take him for vaccinations tomorrow (which will cost about $70) and we will get him groomed (another $50-$70). I think he may have a tick embedded in his ear. He already has several interested parties wanting to meet him. We offered to spay and neuter the mom and dad of Bolt for the dog-food- wanting-dog-owner. He said he’d let us know.

All in all, Bolt is safe! Right now he’s with a foster. He’s up for adoption!
