Dax is a German shepherd mix about four years old who had a really rough ride. He was first adopted by two young adults, brothers who turned him into the shelter because they had to move. Then he was adopted by two older people who loved him dearly but he was a little bit too strong for them when they walked him and so they too returned him to the shelter.
We visited Dax at the shelter all summer! Each time he was returned Dax was heartbroken.
Finally, Dax was adopted by a family with children and he was so happy and so were we. But after a month Dax was returned because the kids were jumping on him and pulling his toys from his mouth and playing too rough with him. So, they returned Dax. To no fault of his own.
Dax sat in a kennel pretty much non- responsive. He was then put on the euthanasia list because of his frequent returns, because of overcrowding and because of all of the fires here in CA with stranded animals entering the shelters.
We pulled Dax out of the shelter ourselves in January of 2020. We didn’t want him to die.
We placed him in foster care and found him a wonderful family in Redondo Beach who loves him dearly!
